This allows hikers to traverse 6.2 miles at a pace of 38 minutes per mile, a generous time allowance.

FOR EVERYONE’S SAFETY:
NO DOGS OR STROLLERS
Please stay to the right of the fire road when being passed by another runner or when encountering a runner coming in the opposite direction. The Verdugo Mountains 10K is an out and back course, so there will be two-way traffic. The fire road is sufficiently wide enough to allow for two-way traffic, as long as participants stay to the right in such situations.
If you choose to wear a personal listening device, please keep the volume low enough or one earpiece removed so that you can hear another runner attempting to pass and/or the instructions of race staff.
